PUUR Natuur Urogeni (Bladder and Kidneys), 50 ml.
Complementary animal feed suitable for: cat, dog, horse, pony.

Composition: extracts of asparagus (Asparagus officinalis), bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva ursi), birch (Betula alba), goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis), goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea), cat's claw (Uncaria tomentosa), java tea (Orthosiphon stamineus) and a diluted extract of barberry (Berberis vulgaris). Alcohol 35% v/v. The composition for dog/cat and horse is identical, only the packaging is larger, because a horse needs considerably more. You can, however, also use the 100 ml size. Order for your dog or cat.

For healthy bladder and kidneys.

Properties per ingredient: asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) has a cleansing effect. Asparagus roots are known above all for their diuretic effect, used for fluid retention and (bladder) stones. It's also an aid during slimming regimes and can have a blood-pressure-lowering effect. Asparagus is also said to have a good antioxidant effect, which is almost a given for most medicinal plants.

Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva ursi) has a cleansing effect on the urinary tract.

Birch (Betula alba) has a diuretic effect. Bacteria and waste products are eliminated by stimulating urine production.

Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis): the properties of Hydrastis canadensis are mainly due to the alkaloids berberine and hydrastine, which make up about 5% of the root, along with canadine, present in smaller concentrations. Of these alkaloids, berberine is the best known. This alkaloid, responsible for the yellow colour of Hydrastis canadensis, has a soothing effect on the bladder and kidneys. Hydrastis also has a stimulating effect on the immune system. The genus name "Hydrastis" comes from the Greek "hydra", meaning water, and refers to the plant's beneficial effect on the body's mucous membranes, particularly those of the urinary tract.

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) is often used in human medicine for bladder and kidney stones, to ease their passage.

Cat's claw (Uncaria tomentosa) increases resistance.

Java tea (Orthosiphon stamineus) supports kidney function, in the case of spasms.

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris): this plant is used for kidney weakness, kidney stones and difficulty urinating.

Unless prescribed otherwise by a vet or therapist.

The optimal dosage is 2-3 times daily:

Dog 10-25 kg: 10 drops

Dog < 10 kg: 5 drops

Cat: 3 drops

20 drops correspond to approximately 1 ml.

The optimal dosage is 1-3 times daily:

Horse: 20 drops

Pony: 15 drops

20 drops correspond to approximately 1 ml.

If it's difficult in practice to give this product several times a day, it's enough to give it once a day or once every 2 days. In that case, give the maximum dose for one day. This product can still be used effectively this way, but the response may take a little longer.

Administration
Give this product directly into the mouth using a plastic syringe, if needed diluted with a little water. Preferably not at the same time as a meal, since the product works better when absorbed by the clean oral mucosa.

If an animal doesn't tolerate the product, the drops can be given on a small piece of food.

If the cat won't take the drops, put the drops on a warm spoon and let the alcohol evaporate from the product. Then give it, diluted with a little water or milk, directly into the mouth using a syringe. The drops can also be applied to the top of the paw, but make sure the cat licks it off.

Notes on use
Also used to support geldings and stallions with frequent urination or urge to urinate, sometimes with only very small amounts of cloudy content.

Folk wisdom among horse people: give your horses a beer now and then so they can urinate properly.

Duration of treatment
In an acute situation, the treatment period is relatively short. This can range from a few days to 3 weeks. Once improvement occurs, continue giving this product for a few more days.

For long-standing complaints, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If improvement occurs, you can switch to a maintenance dose. This usually corresponds to half the dosage stated on the packaging. When giving this product, watch the animal's response. A higher dosage may be needed at the start; this product can safely be given at double the dosage. Gradually reduce the dose to the lowest possible dose.

This product can be given long-term. It's advisable to insert a stop week every 6 to 8 weeks. This allows the "stimulus" to be offered again after the stop week. Resume treatment immediately if necessary.

Storage
Avoid direct sunlight and store this product in a dry place at a temperature between 5-20°C. Keep out of reach of children. The expiry date is shown on the label and packaging.
