Yourdog American Crested Dog takes care of your dog's overall health and wellbeing. All Yourdog foods contain tasty buffalo and chicken meat. We combine this with carefully selected vegetables, fruit and herbs to create the perfect food for your American Crested.
Why Yourdog American Crested
Rich in buffalo and poultry. Made specially for the American Crested. Contains chicory, apple and tomato. Promotes a healthy, shiny coat. Maintains healthy gut flora. Free from artificial colours, flavourings and fragrances. Also suitable for sensitive American Crested dogs. Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag so that it can be processed better in our dry food. We use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and its deep colour, and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat is lower in cholesterol, fat and calories, which makes it very good for your dog's health.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry support good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide your dog with additional valuable nutrients, we have added super healthy vegetables to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the gut and can, among other things, support digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog that provide your dog with all the important natural antioxidants. Fruit can, for example, be good for your dog's immune system, but it can also help keep the breath fresh or maintain a healthy digestive system. These natural ingredients support your dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, algae and so on has a tradition going back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in your dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, different ingredients are emphasised. Breed-specific complaints can be eased by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
American Crested Dog specific vegetables, herbs and fruit
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the American Crested Dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the American Crested belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutrition scientists, we selected ingredients that have an optimal effect on the health and wellbeing of the American Crested Dog.
Chicory
Apple
The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, which produces the apples best known in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.
Dietary fibre has a versatile effect in the digestive tract. It is able to absorb moisture, which keeps the stool soft and supple. Dietary fibre also increases the volume in the gut. This not only stimulates bowel activity but also ensures thorough elimination of waste products.
Apples are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and dietary fibre. Apples are also rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the food, and apples are low in calories.
Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C supports the development of muscles and bones in infancy.
Tomato
The tomato belongs to the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, which originally comes from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were grown in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayas. In 1893 it was decided in America that the fruit should be regarded as a vegetable.
At Yourdog we use the tomato in the culinary sense, treating it as a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories and high in soluble fibre, which supports digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red colour. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. It not only gives the tomato its red colour but is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown, for example, that lycopene can protect against cancer and help with cardiovascular disease. The tomato is also rich in vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.
The tomato is added to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints relating to digestion, skin, eyesight and cardiovascular disease. It can also have a generally cleansing effect on the body.

Feeding tips
Age in months Adult weight (kg)Advice on switching food
If you are switching from another brand of food to Yourdog, we recommend following the steps below. In the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old food. It is important to let your dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost fully on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, you can feed 100% Yourdog. Food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. It is therefore important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loose into the container, but to place it in the container together with the whole bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
