- Brustumfang. An der breitesten Stelle, direkt hinter den Vorderbeinen. Bei Geschirren ist das der Wert, der über Passform entscheidet.
- Zwei Finger Regel. Zwischen Gurt und Fell müssen zwei Finger flach hindurchpassen. Sitzt es enger, scheuert es. Sitzt es lockerer, rutscht der Hund heraus.
