De Groene Os Evening Primrose and Borage Oil Dog/Cat 50 ml is a supplementary feed for dogs and cats. It is an oil containing the polyunsaturated fatty acid GLA. Both evening primrose oil and borage oil are rich in the omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid. Linoleic acid itself is an essential fatty acid, but it is often present in excess in pet food. With added borage oil, the balance between GLA and linoleic acid becomes more favourable.
Evening primrose and borage oil is rich in the polyunsaturated fatty acids GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and LA (linoleic acid). Among other things, GLA is important for the mucous membranes, skin and hormones. Linoleic acid is found in several vegetable oils, but evening primrose and borage oil is one of the few oils that also contains a high concentration of GLA.
This supplement can be useful if your pet could do with support for healthy skin, normal mobility and, in female animals, hormonal balance.
