Groene Os Fish Omega Dog/Cat, 250 ml, is a fish oil rich in the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA that supports several important functions in dogs' and cats' bodies. The two most important essential fatty acids for dogs and cats are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). EPA is important for, among other things, the heart, blood vessels, respiratory system and nerve-cell communication. DHA has a major influence on smooth brain function. Enough DHA supports good concentration and better learning performance. Because of its DHA content within omega-3 fatty acids, this fatty acid is recommended during pregnancy and lactation. Dogs and cats have little or no access to the enzymes needed to convert essential omega-3 fatty acids from plant oils into EPA and DHA. That's why it's important to offer them these fatty acids from animal sources. Linoleic acid, an essential omega-6 fatty acid, is usually present in excess in the diet. Natural vitamin E has been added to Fish Omega to improve shelf life. Please read the packaging before use, including for dosage.
